When I thought of designing my portfolio site to showcase my works and share the ideas with other designers out there, it came to my mind why wouldn’t I design a grunge type site to put some artistic perspective to it.

It was great. But I was not going make it a complete dirty site though I had a fancy in those type of designs. So, I decided to make it with some paper textures + grungy concrete with bit of metal. All praise to god. I could find a lot of textures I needed for this task.

I should give my all credits to the great designers and photographers who spent their valuable time to create/photograph those textures then published and shared with rest of us.

I  really thank to the ‘bittbox’ the owner – of the bittbox.com who photographed and shared high quality paper & grungy textures. I manipulated and used some of them in blog site and portfolio site. And I thank to the owner of urbandirty.com who shared some amazing textures in his site.

I am really grateful to André from pixey.de who shared some excellent paper textures in his site. I’m using it all over the body area of my portfolio as well as the blog which you are in right now.

I found some nice paper scans from deviant art from deviant ~allisonxx24. I appreciate him for this great share.

The next part is the image banner. I wanted to a montage image for the banner. I’ve chosen a nice vibrant picture from a flickr photographer ‘nearsky’ and manipulated it with a different sky image I found in the net. Finally I could come up with a foggy grungy montage which I’ve used in the main portfolio site. You can find the original image here.

I am really thankful to nearsky and already credited him in the montage image itself. I will be writing a separate post as a tutorial on how  I achieved this effect.

I am really thankful to my colleague Mr. Abdullah who motivated me to create a portfolio site. And I pray for my loving wife who still helps me, not only in this project but in all of my projects with her design ideas and cups of coffee & tea.
